1957

Frank Chapman develops automated shrinkage and molding techniques for PTFE (Teflon®) at DuPont.

1960

Refines an isostatic molding process and manufactures the first missile nose cone using PTFE for Ford Aeronutronic anti-missile defense systems.

1964

Builds the first sealer to bond FEP to itself — creating the first FEP heat-shrinkable cover used on pulp and paper machine rollers. A game-changing development for manufacturing worldwide.

1988

Frank Chapman, Ed Lippmann, and Randall Chapman found Fluoron Non-stick Solutions in Elkton, Maryland.

2000s–2010s

Fluoron expands into a 40,000 sq ft manufacturing facility. Achieves ISO 9001 certification. Grows into a worldwide leader serving pulp and paper, printing, aerospace, and more.

2024

Fluoron is acquired and expanded into Spectrum Labs Holdings — creating three specialized divisions with global reach and turnaround times up to 80% faster than OEMs.

Today, if you hold paper, open a cardboard box, or use products made on process rollers — there is a good chance Fluoron technology touched that material.
